Sebastian Liste: An Intimate Pandemic
Sebastian Liste was born in 1985, growing up in both Spain and Uruguay, the origins of his family. He studied Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, Photography and Poetry before beginning An Intimate Pandemic, a long form documentary project documenting the transformation of violence in Latin America over the last six years, since 2009. From the favelas of Brazil to the ungoverned territory of the Amazon forest, Liste has been exploring the continent’s drug production, its impact on local communities, and the roots of crime and punishment and security throughout Latin America. His photo essays (and this project) are gritty, raw, moving and worth viewing. We love his work. Liste is an EPF 2015 FINALIST for the emerging photographer fund and was recently featured in a full spread on Burn Magazine. Impressed with Sebastian Liste’s work.
