Lit Riot Press is seeking new and emerging writers, artists, and content-creators of exceptional promise. If you have questions regarding your submission before submitting your proposal, feel free to contact Lit Riot Press.

Submission Guidelines

Mixed-Experimental

Mixed-Experimental books could include a mix of poetry, prose, flash fiction, quotes, and short stories. Lots of room to be creative. Works that connect back in some way to the topic areas outlined below are encouraged, but not required. We encourage submissions of work by both previously published and previously unpublished writers.

Collection of Short Stories (Fiction) or Flash Fiction

We are looking for highly readable Collections of Short Stories (Fiction) or Flash Fiction booksWe encourage submissions of work by both previously published and previously unpublished writers. Works that connect back in some way to the topic areas outlined below are encouraged, but not required.

Chapbooks

Lit Chapbooks are between 100-150 pages, 5×8 print. Submissions could be fiction or nonfiction. In terms of the manuscript, approx. 20,000 words. If you have questions regarding your submission before submitting your proposal, feel free to contact Lit Riot Press.

Fiction

We are accepting fiction submissions from new and emerging authors of exceptional promise. We are looking for highly readable works of fiction that demonstrate craft and control of the story, characters and narrative. We encourage submissions of work by both previously published and previously unpublished authors. To give you sense of the types of manuscripts we would consider publishing at Lit Riot Press: dark comedy; fictional biography/autobiography; romp; parody; comedy-drama; picaresque; comedy of errors; allegory; or satire.

Nonfiction

We are accepting submissions of highly readable, well researched books of nonfiction from authors of exceptional promise. We encourage submissions of work by both previously published and previously unpublished authors. Works that connect back in some way to the topic areas outlined below are encouraged, but not required. We encourage submissions of work by both previously published and previously unpublished writers.

Issue Topics of Interest (encouraged but not required)

We are especially interested in manuscripts and manuscript proposals that in some way connect back to at least one of the following LRP social issue topics outlined below. This is not a requirement, but encouraged.

  • Discrimination
  • Civil and Political Rights
  • Economic, Social and Cultural Rights
  • Gender Topics
  • Human Sexuality
  • Free Speech
  • LGBTQ Topics
